MENTORS

At Triumph Mentoring, we strive to provide the best mentors to aid all of our students. All of our mentors have been raised in Odessa, Texas, in order to provide close relation to each student's needs. Each mentor is currently in attendance to a four-year university where they will receive their bachelor's degree in numerous fields such as Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Biology, and many more. As mentors, we have diversified our knowledge from one another in order to expose the students to a variety of majors. All mentors will be able to relay their personal experiences in college, not only in academics but in extracurricular activities as well. Below every mentor's description, there will be a personal email address, in which a mentee is able to contact them for questions or curiosity.

My name is Brandon Dominguez. I am currently a Junior at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a major in Neuroscience. I hope to motivate students to take the next step, whether it is in the educational field or a trade field. My motivation to start this mentorship stems from the experiences I have been through at The University of Texas at Austin. Through these experiences I will show the upcoming classes what it takes to succeed at a university and prepare them for their future college career.

Hi! My name is Devon Lara.  I was born and raised in Odessa, Texas and am 19 years of age.  I am currently a Sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin studying Mechanical Engineering while also working on my Business Minor and Computer Science Certificate. In my free time, I am also on the Executive Board for the Texas Chapter of the Delta Upsilon International Fraternity.  My goal for this program is to get current students to realize the opportunities that I never knew were possible for myself at their age. It is my goal to help students from my hometown realize their full potential and show them the places they can go.

Throughout my own high school experiences, my peers and I often struggled in regards to finding guidance on how to navigate college admissions and job application processes. Whether it be putting together a resume or writing an effective cover letter, having access to resources/information and the means to find these materials is crucial for the success of young students. I aim to serve as a resource that aspiring students can rely on for academic, personal, and professional help throughout these challenging stages of our careers and lives. Through this program, I hope to provide a safe and reliable space where students have access to the resources and mentorship they need to succeed in the field of their choosing.

Through my experiences, in both academics and the real world, I believe that I can guide young students to their present and future goals.

It has always been a passion of mine to help others and open hearts and minds to the vast opportunities our world has to offer.  It is important for students, or anyone in general, to be aware and informed about what the educational world has to offer in order to develop ourselves into the best versions of ourselves intellectually and emotionally.  As someone who has gone through years of school and programs both in and outside of the school setting, I feel motivated to and responsible to share important knowledge to others looking for opportunities.  Everyone deserves to be the best they can be, and it's important to share and help in any ways that we can.

My project (1).png

Hi! I come from the south side of San Antonio, Texas and attend the University of Texas at Austin currently, majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Health Communication. I am a full time student-athlete on the rowing team here at Texas, involved in campus ministry, and pursuing a career in medicine. Noticing the desperate need of passion, zeal, and reaching hands in high school in relation to pursuing higher education, I have since dedicated myself to the service of others. I know this mentorship program will allow others deep and rich opportunities to break societal boundaries and self-imposed limits. I hope to be an offering of motivation, insight, and compassion in a way I never experienced when in high school. I am excited for this program and truly find joy in helping students find enthusiasm for education and unlocking their potential!

Howdy! My name is Savanah Renteria and I am a recent graduate from Texas A&M University. As a first generation student I understand how overwhelming it is to lack the resources needed to successfully embark on your educational journey. I would be honored to assist aspiring students with the knowledge and valuable resources I have obtained in creating a smooth transition from high school to your dream college. My plan is to encourage other students to follow their dream with confidence and be successful in navigating their way through the educational challenges. Feel free to reach out to me for college applications, studying tips and tricks or simply for guidance in embracing this new journey.
